Final Notice by Van Fleisher is a thought-provoking fiction novel that raises questions about what one would do if they knew when they were going to die. The story follows Dr. Vijay Patel, who developed a unique sports watch that can predict death within a 10, 20, or 30 day period. While the watches are in the testing phase, a sudden rise in shootings by senior citizens prompts a connection to the VT2 watch, which was tested on them. The book covers multiple individuals from different lifestyles and explores the consequences of knowing when your time is up. Some use the notice to say goodbye to their loved ones, while others seek revenge and take advantage of the fact that they will not face the consequences of their actions.

Final Notice is a thought-provoking and gripping novel that delves into the controversial topic of gun ownership, along with issues of racism and politics. The author has done an excellent job of developing multidimensional and relatable characters that keep the reader invested in the story. The plot is well-paced, and the suspenseful elements keep the readers on the edge of their seats. The author's ability to tie up loose ends in a satisfying manner without rushing the ending is commendable. The novel leaves a lasting impression on the reader by raising important questions about personal responsibility, government policies, and the ethical implications of medical advancements. It is a story that will keep readers engaged, and its significance will continue to resonate with them long after they have finished reading it.

The only complaint I have about the book is that I felt the author was somewhat biased about gun ownership. Although Fleisher gave the pros and cons of each side of the issue, I thought he leaned more on the side of private citizens not owning guns. This may be a turnoff for some readers who have strong beliefs in favor of gun ownership, but overall, it doesn't detract from the book's value as a well-written and thought-provoking read.

Based on the gripping and thought-provoking plot, the well-developed and multidimensional characters, and the author's ability to surprise and captivate me, I give Final Notice a 5 out of 5 star rating. Although the book did not provide a clear solution to the issue of gun ownership, it asked important questions that left me with plenty to think about, hence it deserves a full five stars rating. Despite some perceived bias towards gun ownership, the author presents both sides of the issue and keeps the character count low, making it easy to remember each one. The book was exceptionally well-edited, as I did not come across any errors while reading it.

The ideal audience for Final Notice by Van Fleisher would be readers who are fascinated by science and technology and its implications for society. Additionally, readers who enjoy exploring ethical dilemmas and the consequences of new inventions may find this book particularly engaging.

I would recommend Final Notice to adult readers who enjoy thought-provoking fiction and are not deterred by sensitive topics such as gun violence and school shootings. Due to its mature themes, it may not be suitable for children or those who find such topics distressing. The book contains some profanity, and there are a few detailed sex scenes that may not be appropriate for younger readers. Overall, Final Notice is a well-written and engaging novel that raises important questions about gun ownership and personal responsibility.
