At the age of seventeen, Chad is convicted of murdering his girlfriend, Megan. After fifteen years in jail, Chad has a chance to make parole, but the parole board denies it because Chad is still pleading "Not Guilty" and, in their view, not admitting his wrongs. Sawyer, Chad's younger sister who has become a lawyer, believes in her brother's innocence and is willing to do whatever it takes to free him from jail. Sawyer is devastated by the outcome of the parole hearing when Mason, a journalist, meets her outside the court. He provides her with important information about the murder. Even though Mason was there on the night of the crime, the prosecution never questioned him, and his name was never included on the list of witnesses. Sawyer and Mason soon realise that he was not the only witness left out. The two embark together on this mystery-solving adventure, hoping to prove Chad's innocence. What they don't know is how dangerous it will be for both of them to unravel the past. What happened on that tragic night? Who killed Megan? Will Sawyer be able to finally free her brother?

Murder At Rainbow River by Howard K. Pollack is a crime novel that will keep anyone hooked from the very beginning. I couldn't put the book down after reading only the first chapter. The characters are all well-developed, whether they are main or secondary. They sound credible and authentic. The whole environment, crime details, court interactions, and corruption were very well described and realistic. I was fascinated by the plot and its fast pace. The author did an amazing job organising the story, from the way each new lead appeared to the inclusion of the events from the past. This novel includes all the classic elements of the genre: suspense, twists, danger, and romance.

On the less positive side of things, I must confess that I figured out the ending. This didn't keep me from enjoying this book, as there were other suspenseful moments that kept me entertained. I suspect there might be another twist if the author gives this book a sequel.

I rate this amazing book 4 out of 5 stars. I deduct one star because this version still needs a final round of editing. Apart from this, I am delighted I came across this writer's work and will undoubtedly read more from him.

I recommend this book to lovers of crime, mystery, and suspense. This book's sexual content and use of profanity make it suitable for an adult audience.

I know the word rainbow signifies something either than the lgbtq community. What rainbow does the book refer to? I love me a good crime thriller. I'd read after the second editing.

Oh sorry, I miss this review.🙈

Anyway, I hope that Chad proves to be innocent and is dragged out of jail with the help of Sawyer. Megan's murderer must pay for his crime. I hope Sawyer and his friend solving the crime be in safe unraveling the past. Your review is always amazing, Sara!

It seems like Chad was framed and I'm curious to know who's behind Megan's murder and how they could orchestrate the frame job. Thank you for your great review!
