[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Ruthless Alliance" by Luca Storm.]
Luis Fuentes, a DEA undercover agent, was sent to Mexico to get information on a drug gang called Los Hermanos and aid in the arrest of the kingpin and their top members. After the former kingpin was arrested, he was invited by Alejandro Vasquez Morales, who was one of the heads of Los Hermanos. He saw his old pal Victor tied to the chair and battered, with blood dripping from his hand. Alejandro pressured Luis to give him the address of Antonia, the wife and possible replacement for the former kingpin, but he gave him the wrong address. The later part of the book talks about Javad Khatami and his involvement with his cousin, who planned on bombing the Brooklyn Bridge. Javad later told Antonia that he needed a bomb, and she linked her up with Luis, who was supposed to provide Javad with the bomb for his operation. Was he successful in getting the bomb? Did their goal of bombing the Brooklyn Bridge go through? Reading this book would aid you in discovering the truth.
Ruthless Alliance: Thriller Inspired by True Events (Ruthless Justice Book 1) by Luca Storm is the first book in the Ruthless Agent series and discusses the work of Luis as an undercover agent in the DEA. It also talked about how Javad was desperate to protect his family from financial instability, which led to his involvement with his cousin Hamid, who aimed at bombing the Brooklyn Bridge, to send a message to the Americans.
I loved how the author connected each character in the book. My favorite character was Javad Khatami, as he had a kind heart, even if he got involved in the bombing. Most of those he was dealing with did not know that he couldn't harm a fly, and I felt sorry for him, as all he wanted was for his family to be happy, but his desperation got the best of him. I also loved how the author introduced and gave a narrative of each of the main characters from a first-person perspective.
What I disliked about this book was how some details were left out and some characters weren't properly introduced, like Emily. I got a little confused, as I didn't know who she was to Javad or Lily; instead, it was only disclosed that Rocky did not want to see Javad and Lily when she visited him at the hospital. Also, some chapters seem to be a little rapid. Other than this, the book was interesting to read. I found a few errors in my reading. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars because of my dislikes above.
Furthermore, I recommend this book to those who love secret or undercover agent stories about drug cartels or gangs, as they will enjoy reading it.
