Review of E M P Honeymoon
E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is a work of fiction that showcases two major characters named Kelly and Tom, who went on their honeymoon at Barefoot Sands Resort and Spa, Shoreline Road, Honduras, shortly after they got married. Their arrangement for a honeymoon later turned into an investigation mission by the couple, accompanied by three other people. They became five and formed an amazing team, which they tagged Team USA5. The investigation became a necessity when Kelly, out of curiosity, stumbled on computers among other gadgets mounted in a secluded and dark room whose front was disguised as only a gift shop called La Pocilga, which they discovered was a group of terrorists high-tech laboratory. E M P, which refers to Electro Magnetic Pulse, was a thought-provoking consideration by Prof. Dr. Peter Kinney during his interview session with Henry. He gave the North Americans a wake-up call to avert a possible invasion of their territory using electromagnetism by enemies of the government. If you want to know more about Electro Magnetic Pulse and if Team USA5 succeeded in tracking the terrorists and thwarting their plan, read a copy of the book.
Honestly, I did enjoy reading every chapter of this book. The author ensured the book was engaging for readers. Though this is a work of fiction with a touch of romance and criminology, I learned a lot that could be applied in this twenty-first-century world that reflects present reality. The world has indeed been transformed digitally; therefore, everyone should have ICT skills. It was these skills that Team USA5 employed during their investigation. Another lesson learned is that no one should underestimate the power of teamwork. As a result, when we are members of a team, no one should act in isolation but rather share ideas for set goals to be achieved.
Furthermore, I learned another interesting philosophy from this write-up, which is to know the interest, passion, and supportive ability of whoever you intend to marry. It has a long-term effect on your marriage. If you marry someone who will support you in achieving your vision, you will succeed without opposition in your marriage, while if you don't consider that an important criteria, the reverse is the case. Just like the characters named Cynthia Patterson and her husband, Sky Eastman, Kelly, and Tom. The commander of the terrorists, Dear Leader, made me understand that there is no mercy in the bad guys camp. Once you make any slight mistake, most of the time the repercussions are fatal. Also, people he forcefully suppresses to work for him end up being killed because of his selfish reasons for secrecy after their dedicated service.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the style of writing adopted by the author, which kept the readers giggling till the end, and her ability to create unique roles for each character in the book. While reading, I discovered a few minor errors, which implies the book was professionally edited. I did not encounter any aspect of the book that I disliked.
I recommend the book to detectorists and other security personnel, physicists, ICT experts, politicians, and readers who enjoy this genre of book with a bit of romance and an investigation of crimes. The content of this book will be of benefit to them.
