Review of E M P Honeymoon
E M P Honeymoon, authored by Dorothy May Mercer, is a captivating work of fiction that skillfully weaves together the themes of love, courage, and suspense. The story follows the newlywed couple, Kelly McBride and Sergeant Tom Turbulo, as they embark on a romantic honeymoon on a picturesque Caribbean island. The setting is an enchanting paradise, with sun-drenched beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a diverse range of delectable food. However, their dream vacation takes an unexpected turn when Kelly encounters a mysterious stranger while shopping. As the plot unravels, the couple finds themselves entangled in a diabolical scheme to launch an electromagnetic pulse attack on North America.
With the aid of CIA Special Agent Steve Spalding and Kelly's two female bodyguards, Sharon and Agatha, Kelly and Tom set out on a mission to uncover the culprits and prevent the attack from taking place.
The author's writing style is both clear and entertaining. The characters are skillfully crafted to evoke a vivid sense of their surroundings, despite limited information about their backgrounds. Despite this, their personalities shine through the narrative. The plot of this book centers around a conflict between terrorists and patriots, and I found it to be the story's strongest feature. What impressed me most was the amount of information provided about the terrorist leader, who is often portrayed as mysterious and enigmatic in other books. This added depth to the story and made the antagonist more nuanced and believable, rather than just a one-dimensional "bad guy."
This book is full of action and suspense, thanks in part to the fact that many of the characters are either CIA operatives or members of terrorist organizations. One particular scenario that stood out to me was when Steve, a CIA agent, unknowingly headed to a shipping container that Sgt. Tom and a team of detectives were also investigating. The resulting events were both captivating and humorous, leaving me eager to see how it would all play out.
There was nothing I disliked about this book. It was exceptionally edited. Therefore, I would give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading science fiction laced with romance.
