The story revolves around the mystery surrounding the death of Stella. Stella the wife of Alex Samuel is found dead under mysterious circumstances. Though the cause of death has been declared as heart attack, Collins, Stella’s family friend starts inquiring into the death when he is visited by Stella’s ghost. As he digs deeper he finds that each and every member of Stella’s family guard secrets that are better left undisturbed.

When Collins is visited by Stella’s ghost he gets suspicious about her death. He starts making inquiries only to find that her death was not a heart attack. He discovers that she may have been murdered. Who the murderer is and how he is exposed forms the crux of this book.

What could have been a good horror/thriller is ruined by the language. It is unbelievable that for 6 years no one has tried to find out the reason for Stella’s death. Even when Collins questions Salina if Stella’s death was really a heart attack, Salina asked him to think “out of the box”. It is ridiculous to believe that the entire family has accepted Stella’s death has a heart attack without even an inkling of doubt.

Though the author has tried to retain the suspense till the very end, the amateur way of writing and improper grammar made reading this book a tedious task. Example: I did not like the way the author described what a caftan is. Such descriptions are unnecessary. I mean a dress can be described for its color or the way it looked on a character, the design etc. But why would they give a definition of the dress. It is like describing jeans as “A jeans is a type of pant made of denim material”. The story failed to grab my interest. I found myself getting annoyed by the way of writing. I was almost on the verge of giving up on the story. Like I have mentioned earlier the improper usage of words proved to be an unwelcome distraction. Example – When Collins meets Christina at Stella’s 6th death anniversary memorial he is described as being confused about the unexplained miracles. Why would a ghost sighting be referred to as a miracle? Is it not more like an unexpected happening?

Though the author tries to tie up all the loose ends, a better editing job and a detail towards proper usage of words would have made this book more readable. I will rate this book 1 out of 4 stars.
