Review of The Date Farm
The Date Farm is the fourth installment of the Lara and Uri series written by Jack Winnick, in which the newly married couple Lara and Uri are sent on an undercover mission on the date farm. At Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, the popular mall was attacked by terrorists, and a massive shooting resulted in forty-eight deaths and more than one hundred injuries. Uri and Lara, while enjoying their summer vacation in Ohio at Lara's parent's farm, received a 3 a.m. call that cut short their vacation concerning the massive terrorist attack on a Los Angeles mall. They were summoned to FBI headquarters immediately in Los Angeles. After completing the investigation into the Mall tragedy, they receive another shocking call about a big attack in New York. The New York attack made the American authorities a laughing stock, as it was a well-planned attack, and the terrorist had successfully stolen precious material with ease. They were left confused by the attack and with many questions to seek answers about the motive of the terrorists. Lara and Uri discovered that an old foe, Sheikh Zainal Abidin, orchestrated all the attacks. They volunteer to go to the Middle East and infiltrate the terrorist group to find their motives and leaders in Iran. Will the American authorities retrieve their stolen precious material?
Jack Winnick has used realistic characters that are well-researched. I liked the highly descriptive descriptions of the cultures where the story is set and parts of the world, enhanced by the author's easy writing style. The scenes in the book were easy to visualize because of Jack Winnick's visual descriptions. I love the selfless acts, bravery, commitment, and loyalty Lara and Uri depict for their country to help retrieve the stolen precious material. They were always ready to go anywhere when duty called. Jack Winnick has shown how a country's sensitive information can land in the hands of enemies or terrorists by having foreigners occupy high-sensitive positions in the country. For instance, it was easy for terrorists to get information about where the precious American material was stored and also be able to hack and alter Homeland Security communications satellites because they had Middle Eastern students who had earned technical education in the United States and were working in sensitive positions. They were terrorist agents and the ones giving sensitive information to terrorists.
The Date Farm was exceptionally edited and well-written, and I didn't witness any flaws or errors in the book. It is an intriguing, suspenseful, and fast-paced adventure book to read. Therefore, I will rate The Date Farm 5 out of 5 stars.
The Date Farm also educates about the whole Muslim-Israeli situation. I recommend it to lovers of action-packed war novels. It is also suitable for the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, military, Joint Terrorism Task Force, and domestic police, who are responsible for the country's safety.
