E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer narrates the story of two newly married couples, Tom Turbulo and Kelly McBride, who, while enjoying their vacation honeymoon on a resort island off the coast of Honduras, find themselves in the midst of saving the country. The book also focuses on an electromagnetic pulse adventure.

Kelly's life is in jeopardy after finding out about a strange high-tech lab in the La Pocilga shop—the Pigsty gift shop—where she was shopping for gifts for her nephews and nieces. She is chased but manages to escape from the hands of a burly man in the shop. She immediately calls her brother, Senator Mike McBride, and gives him a snippet of the incident. Kelly does not inform her husband, Tom, about the incident; she avoids ruining his day. Steve Spalding, a CIA special agent, is also in Honduras spying and investigating Col. Rhee Su-Jin, alias Sue Lynn Reese, and her team. Sharon and Agatha are sent as bodyguards to provide security to Kelly and Tom. Sharon, Kelly, Tom, and Agatha captured Steve Spalding in the Pigsty Shop, but luckily they found out he was also on their side. They had discovered a ballistic missile hidden in a container in that shop. The five team up and cooperate to stop the terrorists who are behind the ballistic missile.

The female characters dominate this thriller book. They were strong and participated well in their roles. Henry Haven-Harbinger's interview with Dr. Peter Kinney explaining solar flares that can cause significant damage and the electromagnetic pulse pleased me. Dorothy May Mercer brought that part in chapter 2 so readers could understand it first because in the later chapters, it is based on it and how the terrorists will make use of it.

Apart from Kelly, Tom, Sharon, Steve, and Agatha, Kim Jung Lo was also my favorite character for showing his humanity in his heart, such that before he escaped, he decided to do something that saved the world. Dorothy May Mercer depicts how science and physics knowledge is being misused by those in power, like Dear Leader and General Lee.

The writing style was spectacle without any errors, and no negative aspects were there in the novel to cause frustration while reading it. Overall, E M P Honeymoon is a fast-paced and page-turning book. Therefore, I will award it 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend the book to scientists, physicists, the military, and lovers of thriller genres.
