E M P Honeymoon tells its readers about a couple's adventure in the quest to protect their people from a mad dictator. They were Tom and Kelly. This dictator ruled his country with iron fists. His greed and lust for power drove him to force scientists in his country to create a deadly device that could turn North America into a shadow of itself. He planned on destroying that continent using an EMP. Tom and Kelly could not let that happen. Imagine the lives that would be lost if that were to happen. So, they must scheme, look for the enemy's weak spots, and strike when the chance presents itself.

In E M P Honeymoon, Dorothy May Mercer highlighted some of the possibilities of the future. She hinted that the weapons of the future may not be guns, tanks, or atomic bombs. All one crazy person needs to hold a nation hostage is an electromagnetic pulse machine and the will to take millions of lives, no matter the cost. It is both scary and fascinating. Until I read this book, I never knew that that device was an actual thing that could be made and used in this day and age. The realization that what Dorothy May Mercer wrote about could be a reality surprised me, but I will not change anything in this book for any reason.

I will point out that my favorite (most liked) thing in the book is how realistic it was. The quest for power by the dictator seemed so real that I began to wonder if the author was writing about a ruler in our world. She also presented the characters' conversations and actions so well that I could not help but be impressed.

E M P Honeymoon was written beautifully, and I could not bring myself to dislike anything about it. I liked the emotions it made me feel. I also love that Dorothy May Mercer captured the emotions of every character that can be said to be in the story. I was surprised when I saw that she wrote about the thoughts and feelings of the villain, and for a moment, I felt pity for him. A scene that made me love how the author wrote about emotions was when the villain conversed with his right-hand man in the story. That part helped me see him for who he really was. It actually helped me understand his reason for wanting to claim the lives of millions of people.

Dorothy May Mercer is known for writing books that tantalize the mind and keep her readers engaged in thoughts about the characters' futures. However, that's not all she's known for. She's also known for her dedication to plot development and how she exceptionally edits her books so that they have no single error. The same can be said about this one. It was exceptionally edited and perfectly written in such a way that I would never want to change anything about it. Since it had no negative aspects, I believe it is right for me to award it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to readers who have read Dorothy May Mercer's books and adore both those books and her as a whole. I also recommend it to readers who want to read a thrilling novel about a dictator who dared to do what many villains have not thought about and a couple who will do anything to stop him.
