In a world where electricity supplies become the target of malicious attacks, the consequences can be catastrophic. The most effective approach is to proactively prevent such attacks from happening in the first place, employing a range of strategies involving intelligence agencies and defense systems. Dorothy May Mercer's book EMP Honeymoon embodies the above narrative.

Kelly was savoring the moments of her honeymoon, hoping to create lasting memories with her new husband. Little did she anticipate crossing paths with a group of terrorists whose nefarious plot aimed to cripple America. Shock washed over her when she stumbled upon their plan to unleash an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that would leave the nation in ruins. Curiosity led her into an unattended gift shop, where an unexpected encounter awaited her behind an inconspicuous metal door.

Dorothy May Mercer expertly weaves a tale that immerses readers in a captivating web of events. Each scene unfolds with vivid imagination, effectively grabbing the reader's attention and fostering an interest in every character introduced. Amidst the looming specter of an impending war, the author skillfully balances various genres within the narrative, seamlessly blending elements of romance, comedy, thriller, and action. This masterful storytelling technique ensures an engaging experience, leaving readers eagerly anticipating each twist and turn.

Admittedly, there were moments when the technical details overshadowed the narrative, briefly veering into boredom and distraction. However, these instances were quickly counterbalanced by the subsequent captivating moments that lay just around the corner. One notable aspect of the book was the author's ability to convey parallel scenes occurring in different locations without confusing the reader. The characters, too, were endearing and relatable, lending an authentic touch to the story. Mercer's writing style proved to be effective in maintaining suspense and keeping readers guessing throughout.

This book had no errors at all. Given its professional and exceptional editing, and exceptional character descriptions, I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to young adults and beyond, particularly those with a basic understanding of science and politics, as they will find it a thought-provoking and gripping read.
