Soul Seeker is an interesting book that gives more food for thought regarding worldbuilding than other books of the same genre. It has intriguing characters and interactions that feel realistic despite the supernatural setting of the story. Though the plotline may have moved a little too quickly in some parts, its stellar writing style that keeps you hooked. I read this genre frequently and would wholly recommend it to newbie or veteran readers alike who may be looking for a longer read.

The novel begins by following fire captain Benjamin Poe, a loving but troubled father and husband. Gabriel, his son, has a history of suspected violence and delinquency that Ben and his wife struggle with daily. Ben's home life is filled with daily conflict when a new fire in town and the arrival of the mysterious stranger, Crighton, bring Gabriel's secrets to light.

In part two, the book follows Crighton in his life as a servant of the devil and the missions he partakes in as a result. Certain things about Crighton are different from other demons - and they land him in
lots of trouble with his master and colleagues. However, through perseverance and allies, he finds new ways of viewing his life and undergoes an impactful metamorphosis as a character. I can say with complete confidence that this book had one of the most enjoyable character developments that I've seen in the genre, though it did feel a bit abrupt at times.

A particularly notable and enjoyable part of Soul Seeker was the masterful writing and editing behind it. I did not notice a single error. I usually am quite particular and am bothered by small things like a lack of an Oxford comma, but truly could not find any grammatical or spelling errors or even awkwardness in this book.

From all discussed above, I would rate Soul Seeker a solid 5/5.
