Rarely do I find a book that puts me in the shoes of the character so much that I feel the fear and crushing anxiety as Hush Little Baby did. The fear of Gordon in their daily lives finally being unbearable, Jillian took the children and ran to protect them. Then constantly looking over their shoulders for fear he would find them, but worse, what he would do if he did. Anger in the system that is supposed to protect Jillian and her children, but failed them miserably because of the deep pockets of Gordon. This book was riveting from start to finish.
