Thomas Stone is a private investigator who deals with all kinds of cases. A woman named Lucia Nordone brings a case to him. Her fiance, Abraham, is dead, but she doesn't believe his death was simply an accident, as the reports say. She believes there's foul play involved. At first, Thomas hesitates to take up the case, but afterwards, he agrees to investigate it.

Along the way, he experiences a break-in, albeit one that doesn't come cheap; he's offered a secondary job by the government, and he becomes friends with a lieutenant involved in the case. Family secrets are uncovered, alliances are formed, and theories are created. Will Thomas find the person responsible for the death of Abraham? And can he achieve this without losing his life in the process?

Love, Pride, and Murder by Dennis A. Feece is a suspenseful thriller. We are kept hooked as we are introduced to different characters who could serve as the culprits. We are kept guessing as the book progresses. In this story, we explore the themes of friendship, determination, and love. Across each scene, as the investigation builds up, we see unforeseen love relationships budding, sprinkling a little romance into an otherwise fast-paced suspense book. I especially loved how there was no clue pointing to the culprit until the end of the book. I also loved how the book easily flowed with an excellent plot progression. There weren't any loopholes to leave the reader confused, and this made the book all the more enjoyable. Finally, I did not find any errors in this book, which suggests that the book was exceptionally well edited.

However, I was a little concerned with the work ethic of Thomas Stone in relation to his relationship with Miss Lucia Nordone, which made the book feel a bit unrealistic. I also found some scenes unnecessary and irrelevant to the plot of the book, for instance, the scene where various unrelated events occur, which somehow helps Thomas make a break in the case. I found that part quite confusing, even after he explained the process to Miss Lucia Nordone.

To some extent, I enjoyed reading this book. So I will rate it 5 out of 5 stars, considering that my concerns are mostly subjective. If you're someone who loves being kept on their toes and also appreciates a little bit of romance, then this book would be a perfect read for you.

Writing style is engaging and descriptive, allowing readers to visualize each scene vividly. The pacing is well-balanced, keeping the suspense at a constant high and making it difficult to put the book down. The author's attention to detail and ability to create complex characters add depth and realism to the story.I would rate it 9 out of ten.Loved to read it again

I’ve found that even excellent books have some sort of problem with them. I thought that I was just too picky, but I am glad to see that this extends to others. I’m not any kind of fan of romance. Thanks!

The book's recommendation is perfect for me. When reading a book I look forward to being kept on my toes and a little bit of romance. A little bit being the key phrase. I'm almost sure, even without reading the book that Abraham's death is a result of the foul play his wife expects. Time to see (read and do a lot of imagining rather) the investigator in action then...

Despite your concerns, this seems like an engaging thriller that uses a classice premise to create a story in which I expect twists and revelations. Thank you for your great review!
