Review of E M P Honeymoon
Dorothy May Mercer's science fiction novel E M P Honeymoon offers a captivating narrative that revolves around a married couple named Kelly and Tom Turbulo, along with a host of other intriguing characters. While on a serene honeymoon at a resort island, Kelly and Tom's plans take an unexpected turn when Kelly unintentionally encounters a dangerous terrorist group, putting herself at risk. Realizing the danger, she promptly reaches out to her brother, Senator Mike McBride, for assistance. Mike contacts his acquaintance, Assistant Director Joseph, hoping that he can provide help. As the situation unfolds, it becomes apparent that this group intends to launch an attack on America, necessitating immediate intervention. Will they succeed in thwarting this mission? To find out more, I recommend reading the book.
Every scene in this tense, action-packed thriller had me riveted. It's important to note that this book in the McBride series can be enjoyed separately. The story goes in-depth on the careful measures taken to stop the terrorist attack on America. I thought this married couple's extraordinary sacrifices were really compelling. Few people would voluntarily forego their honeymoon to protect their nation's security. Tom Turbulo works as a city police officer, while Kelly has expertise in computer decoding. Their skills and occupations play a significant role in the operation. This duo, in my opinion, is the epitome of extraordinary compatibility, making them truly fascinating personalities. The book's gripping nature, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger, makes it difficult for readers to put it down.
The author exhibits an impressive ability to craft a fast-paced plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the book from beginning to end, with each page effortlessly leading to the next. Dorothy's vivid descriptions of the potential effects of a nuclear weapon kept me on the edge of my seat. The author's writing style is commendable. Through this book, I not only relished the story but also gleaned valuable insights, particularly regarding the significance of selflessness in our interactions with others. Among Dorothy's cast of characters, I found Cynthia and Sky, two recurring individuals, particularly intriguing. The author's skillful portrayal of the characters further enhances the book's realism and showcases the author's creative prowess.
There is nothing negative I noticed about this book. The author's depiction of the characters resonated with me, as they resembled people we encounter in our daily lives. The collaborative efforts depicted in the book were commendable. I admired how the couple and their friends rallied together to protect the country from impending catastrophes. I applaud the author's creativity and extend my appreciation to the editor for flawlessly editing the book, resulting in a polished final product.
Given its educational value and ability to introduce new ideas, I wholeheartedly award this book a five out of five star rating. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy suspenseful, thrilling, and action-packed books.
