The Raven Conspiracy is a crime thriller that takes place in the small beach town of Crescent Beach. The author, Michael Spratt, wastes no time and starts his book off with excitement. Within the first few pages, the reader is introduced to FBI agents that are investigating a possible terrorist attack in Crescent Beach. The FBI team is responsible for finding potential suspects and getting to the bottom of the case that could serve as a serious threat. However, their routine investigation faces some road bumps when the town and the people in it raise some suspicion. The FBI agents must keep a close eye on everyone and the interactions going on. One notable character is Crescent Beach’s Deputy Sheriff, JP Barnett. Barnett is a reputable person in Crescent Beach who has the respect and trust of almost everyone. However, the FBI begins to notice his reluctance to help with their investigation and some suspicious activity on his account. With the town against them, the agents have to stay on high alert. The agents must get to the bottom of the case in a town filled with people that are not as they might seem.

This was an exceptional book. The plot of this book was extremely intricate and complex. I enjoyed the multiple layers that this book contains. I believe that Spratt does a great job with his character development as well. He clearly takes his time in describing each main character and their story. I found that this helped me form strong connections with them. Spratt's character development also allowed me to stay extremely engaged. Spratt’s detailed descriptions of the characters made this book even more enjoyable for me to read. The author does an unbelievable job of keeping the book exciting. Personally, this book contains more chapters than most books I usually read. I typically get bored of books with this type of layout. However, Spratt’s writing style and plot make this book anything but boring. Throughout the book, the reader really does not know what the truth is. This is how the author keeps the reader engaged. I could not stop reading because I desperately wanted to know what was going to happen next.

There was truly nothing to dislike about this book. I believe the author developed an extremely strong plot and made the book exciting to read. My only critique would be that some of the writing in this book sounded a little immature and basic. However, for the most part, the book sounded extremely professional.

Overall, this was a great book. I genuinely enjoyed reading this and found myself extremely engaged throughout the entire book. The author has an advanced writing style and a strong vocabulary which makes this book fun to read. I also found no grammatical errors, which makes me believe that this book was professionally edited. For the reasons stated, I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a crime or thriller type of book. There is tons of excitement and mystery which makes this great for people that enjoy a nail-biter. If you enjoy books involving detective work, then I highly recommend this book!
