The book E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer tells the story of Kelly and Tom Turbulo, a newly married couple embarking on their honeymoon in the Caribbean. However, their blissful time together takes an unexpected turn. Tom, a police sergeant, and Kelly, the sister of Senator Michael McBride, discover a terrorist group's plot to unleash an electromagnetic pulse that could bring down North America. Kelly contacts her brother and discloses the information to him. Senator McBride enlists the help of his skilled investigative team, led by Cynthia Patterson, to join Kelly, Tom, and himself in launching an investigation. The book reveals whether they were able to thwart the insurgents' plan or not.
Upon delving into the pages of E M P Honeymoon, I was initially perplexed by including "E M P" in the title and its connection to a honeymoon. As I immersed myself in the story, I discovered that "E M P" referred to an electromagnetic pulse. Still, the link to a romantic getaway remained elusive. However, as I concluded the book, the purpose behind this intriguing combination became clear. Throughout my reading experience, I learned much from the author's meticulous research, encountering fascinating subjects like solar flares. The interview with Dr. Peter Kinny was remarkably enlightening, underscoring the author's dedication to thoroughness, even outside her expertise.
