Pulse: Book One by B.A. Bellec tells about Pulse, a company that almost monopolizes all fields in 2040. They provide food, organs, music festivals, technology, and other things, regardless of their effects on consumers, society, and ecosystems. People who still care are trying to stop all of this by joining the Anti-P. They have almost the same background; people affected by Pulse that have lost their dreams and their closest people. Their plan goes well, without knowing anything else is about to happen. An incident that made the situation very tense. Is it because of the aliens? Bio-weapons?

When I started reading, I needed to think to digest the story. In my opinion, this book starts with a slow plot. I need time to get to the middle, but after that, I'm very focused on finishing the book. The story is very interesting and thrilling. I'm curious about every moment, and many questions arise that make me look forward for answers while reading books.

Actually, I'm not too comfortable reading books with a lot of characters. This book has many characters and is written from the point of view of each. But what is an added value for me in this book is how the author clearly informs about the details of the time and whose point of view is in each chapter so that I don't have to drown in questions in my own mind. I like that in every conversation, the author writes it in dialogue form, so I don't have to make an effort to guess who is speaking at this moment. This clarity and detail make me comfortable reading the book. The author also conducts in-depth research to make the story dimensionless, not flat. The author includes events that really happened in the form of past explanations.

Overall, I am satisfied with this book. Maybe the story plot is slow because this is the first book, so you can say it builds the foundation for the story. I really enjoyed this book and am curious to continue with the next one. Technically, I found no writing errors, so I can say this is well written and professionally edited. Therefore, I give it 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book for people who like dystopian sci-fi horror thrillers. Young readers may be under surveillance for violence in this book.
