The House on Tyner is a book written by Matthew O'Connell. The book starts with the protagonist, Jackson Taylor, who is a baseball player and has played in the major leagues. He once had a beautiful wife named Jennifer and two children named Thomas and Melissa.

Jackson's problem starts immediately when he loses his wife and his children. He moves into a new house with the help of Jacquie and Tim. Not long after he moved into the house, strange things began to occur. Even his Cat began to behave in an awkward manner. This pushes him to begin to dig into the records of the original owner of the house. He soon finds out that the previous owner of the house murdered his own wife and two children. The ghost of one of the dead children begins to try passing different messages to him to help her unravel the mystery of her death. Will they be successful? Find out for yourself.

I really enjoyed how helpful Lara was in providing him with more information about the names of the people who had lived in the house before he moved in. I must applaud the author for using a definite date at the beginning of several chapters and for writing the stories in the first person.  I  also like how I was able to feel the same shock Jackson felt when he first saw the ghost in his house. I was scared that the ghost was going to harm him. It just felt real, like a horror movie. That is one of my favorite moments in the book.

For people who enjoy reading books about haunted houses and ghost stories, the story is a fantastic choice. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, as I was unable to detect any errors in it. This goes to show that it was edited professionally.

I didn't like how the main character kept telling his friends that he had seen a ghost in his home. This, however, isn't enough to deduct any stars from my rating of the book.
