Kevin is a child with a rare brain disorder and a fascination for figurines. Through his figurines, he lets his imagination run wild. He always receives a new one from his uncle, Ron. The addition of a new figurine, Bones, brings unexplainable changes to the family. Was it all just a mere coincidence? Or is there something more to it? In Tales from Hallowed Ground, Volume III , Noel Wing writes short, horrific stories that feature supernatural forces and creepy characters.

There are so many enjoyable aspects to this book. Horror stories are meant to frighten readers, include exciting twists, and have readers hooked on cliffhangers. This book did not come up short on any of these. The seven short stories written by the author all created thrilling anticipation for what would happen next. In "Nicholas and Natalia", the end felt like the beginning of a new story. The most bizarre story for me was "Wallpaper". Norah and Greg moved into the Old Castleton House, which has had a strange history for decades. Would history repeat itself?

The author has a great and detailed way of describing the scenes, characters, and narrating events. His storytelling was descriptive enough to evoke strong images in readers' minds. I enjoyed the fact that the author did not just stick to a typical horror story concept and exaggerated characters. He explored and added diversity, including figurines and cursed work tools, amongst other concepts. He blended his paranormal elements perfectly with the normal.

However, there are negative aspects to this book as well. This book was not professionally edited. It had a lot of grammar errors. Also, I felt the author sacrificed his storylines and plots for the horror a lot of times. Much effort was put into creating the element of fear rather than the story's development and progression. For instance, in "The Framer", I felt there were a lot of plot holes that were fundamental to the plot. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars and a star was removed because of the errors in it. Noel wrote interesting stories that would give anyone the creeps. Notwithstanding the accolade, the negative aspects hold me back from giving the book a perfect rating. I recommend this book to lovers of horror stories, thrillers, and paranormal fiction.

Despite the flaws you pointed out, overall, this seems like an exciting collection of horror stories, so I hope the author does another round of proofreading to prevent distractions for his readers. Thank you for your great review!
