B. J. Cyprian's "The Gray Line" is a suspense-filled thriller novel that follows the story of Angel Lamb after the tragic loss of her wife, Beth Lamb.

Angel Lamb is a thirty-year-old African-American woman. After a tragic accident claims the life of her wife, Beth Lamb, she is forced to join a grief support group. An attack from an abusive boyfriend on Alex, the psychologist who heads the group, kick-starts a sequence of murders and revenge on abusive parents and partners by an unknown "vigilante". Soon Angel, Alex, and every other member of the support group are drawn into a far bigger mess and conspiracy than any of them can handle, a conspiracy that threatens their very lives.

One of the numerous reasons I liked the book was the suspense. Like every other good thriller novel, B.J. Cyprian's "The Gray Line" keeps readers guessing without any idea of what comes next or who dies next. I also liked the pacing of the book; it wasn't too fast nor too slow; it kept a perfect pace that allowed for maximum character development. Speaking of character development, I'd also have to commend the author's ability to flesh out the back stories of several major and minor characters to give readers a deeper understanding of the characters' motives and ideals. A perfect example would be Lyndsey Wexler's and Victor's tragic backstories. Another important strength of the book is the author's ability to expertly blend humor into the story without distracting readers from the direness of the situation. A perfect example was when Mrs. Robinson joked about wishing she had a "flat stomach and an ass like Beyoncé" when they were in the middle of a battle that could end all their lives.

I found myself without any dislikes whatsoever for the book. I must commend the editing of the book; though I noticed some minor grammatical errors, they weren't significant enough to disrupt my reading experience.

I'd rate B.J. Cyprian's "The Gray Line" 5 out of 5 stars for its suspense, interesting storyline, and excellent character development.

I'd recommend the book to adults and young adults who enjoy crime thrillers and murder mystery books.
