Certain Cure by Jennifer Vallopi is a gripping and thought-provoking end-of-day thriller that skillfully intertwines elements of science and religion. The book leads readers through the bustling streets of Manhattan, where a complex web of mysteries and revelations unfolds.

The story revolves around Claire Cummings, a terminally ill cancer patient, and her daughter, a struggling TV talk show host. Their lives suddenly turn when the enigmatic Dr. Smith Viviee from China offers a chance at a miraculous cure. Helene's initial skepticism gives way to excitement, not only for the prospect of saving her mother but also for the potential career boost it could provide.

Simultaneously, on the upscale Park Avenue, the renowned physician Archibald Claiborne meets a tragic end, and a former New York City police chief, now a security expert, Robert Morgan, is called upon to unravel the perplexing murder. A single clue, a necklace bearing the caduceus emblem, becomes the lynchpin in a puzzle that holds deeper secrets. Will the killers of Dr. Archibald be brought to justice?

My favorite part of this book was the author's writing style, which kept me engaged with an intriguing plot. The element of suspense is well-crafted, making the book a page-turner. The slow and realistic development of the relationship between Robert and Helene adds depth to the story and makes it relatable. The emotional connection between characters is genuinely portrayed, creating a solid connection with the readers.

I did not enjoy the book's exploration of complex subjects like string theory and quantum physics. It was challenging for me as a reader who prefers straightforward narratives. At times, the story felt overwhelming due to the intricate blend of science and religion.

Overall, I rate this book five out of five stars. It is well-written and exceptionally well-edited. I recommend it to readers who enjoy a mix of science and religion. It also suits those who like thought-provoking stories that challenge conventional boundaries.

Mixing science and religion is tricky, even more in a story concerning a cure for cancer. I'm curious to see how this story handles these themes. Thank you for your great review!
