MURDER on Big Stony Lonesome is a novel that combines mystery, thriller, and historical fiction genres. It tells the story of two teenagers, Jack von Himmel and Sarah Koleski, who fall in love despite their different backgrounds and religions. Jack is the grandson of the leader of the Wisconsin's Nazi Party, while Sarah is a Jewish girl who attends public school for the first time. Their romance sparks a deadly conflict between their families and other hate groups, who plot to destroy the Koleski cranberry marsh and kill them both. Meanwhile, FBI agent Christine Mountain Wolf, a Winnebago tribal member, tries to solve the case and stop the violence before it is too late.

[...] The book also incorporates historical facts and events, such as the Nazi gold bars, the war on drugs, and the wolf reintroduction program in Wisconsin.

The book is written in a fast-paced and engaging style that keeps the reader hooked from the first page to the last. The author uses vivid descriptions and emotions to make the reader feel like they are part of the story. The book is full of suspense, action, humor, and drama that make it a thrilling and enjoyable read. The book also has some photos and maps that enhance the visual appeal and understanding of the story.

The book has well-developed and relatable characters that make the reader care about their fate. Jack is a sympathetic protagonist who struggles with his family's legacy and his own identity. He is brave, loyal, and smart, but also naive and impulsive. Sarah is a strong and independent heroine who faces discrimination and bullying at school. She is compassionate, witty, and adventurous, but also stubborn and rebellious. Christine is a professional and determined investigator who uses her skills and intuition to solve the case. She is also a caring and supportive friend who helps Jack and Sarah.

The book is well-edited and formatted, with no noticeable grammatical errors or typos. The book has a clear structure and flow, with each chapter focusing on a different point of view or location. The book also has a satisfying conclusion that wraps up the main plot and subplots.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I enjoyed reading this book because it was entertaining, informative, and inspiring. I liked how the author blended fiction and reality to create a compelling story that touched on important issues and values. I also liked how he portrayed the different cultures and settings that he encountered. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, thriller, or historical fiction books.
