The Dead Chip Syndicate by Andrew W. Pearson is a story that talks about the complex world of cryptocurrency, high-stakes gambling, and international intrigue. It also talks about the main character and his relationship with his brother, friends, and acquaintances.

The story follows Anthony, who gets involved in a series of situations that begin with a flight to Manila's Ninoy Aquino Airport. His flight is marked by turbulence and a looming sense of danger. Anthony soon finds himself entangled in a web of threats, hired hitmen, and a sinister plot to assassinate him. As the book progresses, the story shifts back eight months to Macau, where Anthony meets Cash Cheang and is drawn into the world of cryptocurrency and the complexities of doing business in China. The book talks about elements of business, crime, and personal relationships.

I love how this book was able to immerse me in a world of high-stakes finance and international politics. The author's portrayal of the cryptocurrency industry and the complexities of conducting business in China is exemplary. The book's exploration of modern themes, such as the use of AI in surveillance, political dynamics in China, and the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, makes the book more interesting and relevant to society.

One thing I did not like was the book’s extensive length, consisting of 49 chapters. The story later felt overwhelming. The length led to a feeling of prolonged engagement. Also, the book has detailed descriptions, but some of them are lengthy and complex, particularly in the context of settings. This slowed down my reading pace.

Nevertheless, this book was marvelously edited, as I did not find any grammatical errors in it. My dislikes about the book are minor, and I loved how the storyline of the book was not predictable and full of suspense. It even enlightened me on some topics about cryptocurrency that I was not familiar with before, so I am rating The Dead Chip Syndicate by Andrew W. Pearson 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to people who like reading crime fiction.

A thriller that is like a full immersion into today's world, from finance to politics passing through the pandemic. I undestand why such a novel can be overwhelming but it can be very interesting as well. Thank you for your great review!
