Review of E M P Honeymoon
Kelly had taken an excursion bus around the island to stroll through some shops and local venues. On the side of the street, she was fascinated by a window display of dozens of toy pigs. She had stepped into the shop, hoping to find gifts for her family. While in search of the clerk, she stumbled upon something strange. If you are interested in this story, then read E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer.
Tom Turbulo and Kelly McBride were newlyweds who were spending their honeymoon on a resort island off the coast of Honduras. Senator McBride’s sister, Kelly, had stumbled upon some sort of mysterious operation in a fake gift shop and had been attacked by a man in it. Afraid and alone at the time, she made a panic call to her brother. Then an investigation team was formed along with a CIA agent to unravel the mystery behind the gift shop. What mysterious operation was going on behind the gift shop? What was the motive behind this operation? Could their plans be thwarted, or were things already out of hand?
I found this book interesting. I especially liked reading about the brave and intelligent characters in it. One of those characters was Kim Jung Lo. He showed great courage, tact, and bravery while planning his escape from the camp. He made friends with the dogs, regularly visiting them and bringing them treats when possible. He assembled a few survival tools, some of which he crafted himself. On the night of his escape, he rubbed and soaked his shoes with doggy urine and feces to slow down the tracking dogs that were soon to be sent after him. This impressed me.
There was something I disliked. I felt that Kelly and her team were sometimes too lighthearted for the serious situation they had to deal with. Besides this, the book contained enough suspense. I appreciated the author's writing skills. The different scenes in the book progressed in an orderly manner. This could help a reader keep up with the events in the book. The story started by piquing my interest and climaxed without leaving any loose ends.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I found no errors. It was exceptionally well-edited. It was a good thriller. As much as I felt that Kelly and her team were too jovial, it took away some edge from the book's suspense. I recommend this book to those who enjoy reading thrillers about terrorism.
