E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer is a brilliant action thriller that takes us to Honduras. We meet Kelly McBride and Tom Turbulo, the newlyweds on their honeymoon at Barefoot Sands Resort in Honduras. With Tom out with the dive boat to explore coral reefs, Kelly opted for a tour bus excursion around the island. She wandered into a small gift shop to buy gifts for her family. Having selected the souvenirs and looking for the shop clerk, Kelly wandered into an “Employees Only” room which turned out to be a sophisticated lab with huge computers and monitors. The next moment Kelly was attacked. Having escaped her attacker and reunited with Tom at the resort, Kelly shared with him her adventure. She also called her brother, Senator Mike McBride. A police officer, Tom decided to investigate, and Kelly joined him. What will Kelly and Tom discover?

E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer absorbed me from the first chapter and kept me in its grip until the story ended in an exhilarating climax. I loved the suspenseful, action-packed, multi-thread plot. I also liked how Dorothy deftly connected the plot threads leaving no loose ends. In addition, I liked the humor, the story’s political aspects, and the relatable characters of Tom, Kelly, and their friends. But most of all, I liked the erudite scientific depth of this story. All in all, it was a hard-to-put-down and most enjoyable read.

I “read” this brilliant thriller in the audiobook format, so the professional editing quality is not in point for my review. As for the quality of audiobook production, the audiobook was narrated by Scott Ellis who has a degree in theatre and nearly 30 years of teaching Language Arts. With more than 70 audiobooks to his credit, Scott has done an excellent job professionally play-acting this narration. His distinct and clear voice, top-quality sound recording, and awesome theatrical performance made my listening experience highly enjoyable and unhindered by diction, accent quirks, or other comprehension difficulties.

I cannot fault any aspect of this fantastic novel or its audio production, so I happily rate it five out of five stars. I highly recommend it to fans of suspenseful action thrillers, political thrillers, crime mysteries, and adventure.

The fact that the book was action filled made the storyline more interesting and engaging.
