Dorothy May Mercer's work, titled E M P Honeymoon, presents a gripping and tense tale chronicling the escapades of Kelly and Tom, a recently wedded pair who serendipitously confront a clandestine terrorist group while on their honeymoon. The narrative chiefly centers on Kelly, the central protagonist, as she is thrust into an unforeseen and hazardous situation.

The couple's idyllic romantic retreat takes a startling turn when Kelly happens upon a covert terrorist faction by chance, harboring sinister intentions of executing a devastating assault that poses a threat to countless lives. Following an unintended intrusion and a subsequent assault, Kelly and Tom decide to investigate further, seeking the assistance of Kelly's sibling, a senator. Eventually, they discover that the terrorist organization's plot is more extensive and perilous than initially believed.

The group comprises individuals willing to go to any lengths to achieve their goal, centered around a catastrophic electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack capable of severely impairing entire nations. The organization believes this attack will grant them the power to reshape the world according to their ideals. As Kelly and Tom probe deeper into their inquiry, they gradually uncover the group's alarming motivations and perilous schemes. Supported by Kelly's brother and allies, they must act promptly to thwart the group's plans and prevent the implementation of their vicious attack.

When I finished this book, I found it to be a highly captivating and thrilling read. The author skillfully combines multiple storylines and perspectives, resulting in a fast-paced and absorbing narrative. From the outset, the intricate plot held my attention, and the well-developed characters and their interactions seamlessly integrated into the storyline, providing an enjoyable and immersive reading experience. What particularly impressed me was the author's adept creation of suspense, keeping me thoroughly entertained. The constant tension and uncertainty about the unfolding events consistently surprised me.

I found nothing to dislike about the book. On the positive side, the author's writing style was exceptional, and the meticulous editing of the novel was evident, as I encountered no noticeable typographical or grammatical errors. I highly recommend this novel to those seeking fast-paced and thrilling stories. With well-developed characters, an intriguing plot, and unexpected events, "E M P Honeymoon" delivers an engaging and exhilarating reading experience. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, owing to its thrilling nature, captivating plot, well-rounded characters, and unique twist within the crime genre. It stands as a must-read for enthusiasts of suspenseful tales.
