Review of Turning Pro
Captain Chuck Reardon and his men Ox, Jacinto, Morales, and so on were in the jungles of Venezuela preparing for a military operation when CIA agent Watson came to inform them of the date of their operation. He was there earlier so they could obtain weapons from Reza Nassiri, a weapons dealer known as the Crimson Scimitar, a target of Reardon's last mission. When they met with him, Nassiri was with his son, and in the exchange, Jacinto went rogue, and the elite guard of President Hernandez knew their location, and in little time, they were surrounded. The unexpected attack led to the deaths of Reardon's men, and Nassiri also lost his only son.
As events unfold, there is a fight between Reardon and Nassiri, where Nassiri stabs Reardon, and later, Morales' makeshift army kills Jacinto and wipes out the whole elite guard. Watson later informed Reardon in the hospital of how Morales finished off the work, Hernandez hanged, and Reardon was also presumed dead. I found this book exciting and was not disappointed after getting a copy. This thriller is terrific, and I commend the author for a well-done job. The descriptive approach of the characters and scenes was done perfectly, and the book was very detailed. I like how Chuck handled his professional and personal lives, even though it was not easy. The chapters were also short, and the way the enemy moves were kept from the reader also left a touch of curiosity. Another commendable aspect of the book is its low profanity, which would make it an easy read for teenagers. I relate to the character Jake because I enjoy his sports career. Lastly, after reading this copy of this intriguing book, all I could ask for was book 2.
I have nothing negative to say about this book, and I rate it as a perfect 5 out of 5 stars because of the flow and the fact that the book doesn't lack in any aspect. I noticed a minor error while reading this book, proving professional editing. I recommend this book to people who love action and thrillers because of its exciting storyline.
