The title says it all…Mysteries You Can’t Put Down…and you won’t be able to put them down. Eight stories focused on horror, mystery, crime, corruption, ghosts, spirits, and the beyond. Brad Bennett puts the reader into these stories, making them a character but also giving them a birds eye view to shout from the rooftops. Except, the reader never truly knows the whole story. Even though the book has eight separate stories that have nothing to do with each other, the reader will not be able to stop after the story. They will want to find out what the next one is about, and the next, and the next. Those who love mysteries, crime, and spirits from the beyond will not be able to put this book down. As a lover of mysteries and a firm believer in the beyond, I give this book a 5 out of 5 for being incredibly enticing. I was shocked to see there were no typos or grammatical errors, however, this added to the reader being completely captured by the story. The typos and errors would have taken away from the power the stories gave off. The only negatives about this book were the need for some stories to be longer. However, isn’t that the basis of a good mystery? The need to know more, see more, explain more of the characters' lives is what gives these stories the power over the reader. Hopefully one day Brad Bennett will create longer stories from each of these short stories. It would truly be a disservice to the mystery lovers if these stories are not made into longer stories. A warning to all readers however, some of these stories have a level of gore that can be unfavorable and quite disgusting. Reader discretion is advised for the stories “Uri’s Full Bodied Wine”, “The Last Requiem”, “The Killing on the 16th Tee”, and “The Secret of the Undead Room”.
