Currently, approximately 64,000 black women and children are missing in the United States. There are several that are allegedly black-on-black crimes. Are there any potentially more serious reasons for this? Following Susan's vehicle accident, her daughter vanishes without explanation. John, an investigative journalist, prioritizes discovering the truth about the situation. Susan's husband, DeShawn, became his main suspect as a result of his past. Will John be able to track down Susan's daughter and the person responsible for her mysterious disappearance? Read the book to find out more.

The Missing, a book by Leon Skrywer, discusses the unexplained disappearances of black people. It also discusses the grief that families experience when a loved one dies. We see the impact of losing a loved one on one's mental health through John's eyes. John was an advocate for acknowledging the consequences of poor mental health, particularly among African Americans, which I thought was admirable. The author did not hide the horrors that black Americans must face. This includes being subjected to excessive force by law enforcement and living in rundown neighborhoods. In order to preserve their names and the fight for justice, the author used this platform to identify a few victims of police violence.

This book incorporates themes such as drug abuse, police brutality, love, loss, betrayal, and racism. One aspect that I really liked was how it depicted John's determination to find out the truth, even if it meant risking his life. Another noteworthy aspect was the author's discussion of white people's advantages over black people as seen through Brice's eyes. I also liked that every character was expertly developed, making them seem distinct in their own special style. Lauren is one example of this, as she risked her life to save others—a brave feat that few people can match.

While I understand that the novel is about black people, there is an excessive amount of profanity that appears unnecessary. I thought it would have been a better experience with less profanity in it. In conclusion, this book is great for readers of various age groups; however, children shouldn't read it due to its explicit sexual material. For the reasons stated above, I will give "The Missing: A Novel by Leon Skrywer" a rating of 5 out of 5; the drawback is not worth the deduction of a star. In my opinion, fans of mystery and action novels will enjoy this.

I strongly believe that this book was meant for this day. My day did not go as expected. But when I saw the word "hope" I knew that this book was meant to inform me that whatever I am going through, I have to embrace the situation in a positive way, to believe, have hope and prophesy my future by understanding that everything that I hoped and prayed for has been manifested already. Thank you to the Author Before I used to dwell on "Expect the worst, so you won't be disappointed". As I grew, I realized it's best to live every minute being hopeful regardless of the outcome. So now my motto is "Think Positive and Expect Positive Always". I'd love to read this book to learn more about Hope though

The statistics about missing black women and children are shocking! I have to confess my ignorance concerning the lives of black people beyond what reaches the news. This novel seems to use fiction to address some very serious problems that are far too common in real life, which makes the author commendable for his effort to spread that knowledge. I love that the book touches on real-life situations in today's world. The statistics provided shed light on this too. Is Susan's husband guilty, though? I cannot wait to find out.

It breaks my heart to know that as much as this is a fictional novel, the topics discussed in the book are actually things that happen in today's society. It's quite unfair how People of Color face these challenges in America due to racism and by reading your review, I can tell the author did a very great job in addressing such sensitive issues that most people shy away from talking about. It's great to bring awareness to the ignorant ones and the world as a whole. This was a fantastic review.
