Review of Red Goliath
The narrative delves into the historical and present-day context of Miami, revealing its turbulent history concealed beneath its tranquil exterior. Against this backdrop, the protagonist's (Delta) narrative evolves as he reconnects with Berkowitz, navigating intricate challenges entwined with the eradication of criminal enterprises and the complexities of geopolitical dynamics. Delta convenes with his superior, Colonel Berkowitz, upon successfully concluding the assigned task. One fateful morning, Delta discovers a mysterious attaché case with a top-secret file, a revolver, and ammunition inside it that the Colonel had left behind. Subsequently, Delta learns about his next assignment.
Red Goliath by Oscar Ortiz is a riveting tale that plunges readers into the murky underworld of international crime and espionage. The story combines a complex web of intrigue, betrayal, and relentless action that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. At the heart of the story is the protagonist, known only as Delta, whose journey from disillusioned operative to hardened agent is both compelling and emotionally resonant. As Delta navigates a treacherous landscape of rival gangs, corrupt officials, and ruthless assassins, readers are drawn into his world, rooting for him as he battles against impossible odds.
The character Delta stands out as the most compelling and dynamic figure in the narrative. As the protagonist, Delta embodies a complex blend of strength, intelligence, and moral ambiguity, making him both relatable and intriguing to readers. What makes Delta particularly compelling is his internal struggle between duty and morality. Despite being a skilled and loyal agent, Delta is not immune to doubt and self-reflection. His inner conflicts add depth to his character as he wrestles with the ethical implications of his missions and the collateral damage they may cause.
There are no downsides to the book. One of the novel's greatest strengths is its relentless pacing, with each chapter building upon the last to create a gripping narrative. From pulse-pounding action sequences to tense moments of suspense, Red Goliath is a rollercoaster ride of thrills and excitement that will leave readers breathless. Through Delta's journey, Ortiz raises thought-provoking questions about the true cost of justice and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect what they believe in.
The editing of the book is excellent. I rate the book a commendable rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The book's exploration of themes related to loyalty, morality, and the effects of one's decisions justifies this rating by the impact it will have on its readers. The narrative not only captivates with its enthralling plot but also prompts introspection into broader societal and ethical considerations. I highly recommend this book to readers interested in crime, espionage, and international intrigue.
