Review of E M P Honeymoon
Which should Kelly fear more? The fact that she was being pursued by dangerous men from a high-tech lab hideout, which she had not planned to discover, or the dark secret she found out from there—that doom was about to befall the whole of North America as a bomb blast awaited the whole territory? Her knowledge of the plot of Dear Leader, a terrorist leader, only puts an end to her just-beginning honeymoon with her husband, Tom Turbolo, on the Caribbean island. Kelly has called her brother, Senator Mike McBride, for help after her frightening discovery. What would happen next?
E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is a thriller and science fiction novel that will walk on your nerves and keep you on your toes. First of all, I was so impressed with the well-endowed and crafted personalities bestowed on the characters that it was difficult to make out which one was my favorite. They were very talented. Kelly was a digital decoder, Tom was a trained policeman, and Sharon, Director Joseph, Agatha, and Senator Mike McBride were all exceptional characters with unique personalities.
Another thing was the TV talk show interview, which was a great aspect of the book. It highlighted the most important questions that most people might not have thought of but holds a weighty and important question as regards the events in the book, which gave rise to the theme "What if the power goes out?"
The thought of a secret high-tech lab that was discovered and a brewing bomb attack made me very eager to read the book to the end. It created a lot of suspense for me. I learned about places I had not heard about before, like Honduras, and I also learned about an electromagnetic pulse called an EMP. I also got to know about cyberterrorism, its dangers, and some scientific terms.
The plot went on at a fast pace, which was satisfactory. The romance between the two main characters, especially during their honeymoon, was a joy to read about. There is nothing I found that made me dislike the book.
Overall, E M P Honeymoon went through a commendable editing job and deserves a five out of five stars rating. Thriller and crime book enthusiasts have a lot to gain from going through the content of Dorothy May Mercer's book.

And yes, EMPs can be pretty nasty if they get deployed in a real-life scenario. Definitely makes one shudder. I might give this book a go some day. Appreciate the review!
