"E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer takes readers on an exciting journey filled with suspense, action, and unexpected twists. Set in Honduras, the novel follows newlyweds Kelly and Tom as they stumble upon a sinister plot during what was supposed to be a relaxing honeymoon.

The book opens with Kelly's innocent exploration of a gift shop, which quickly escalates into a heart-pounding encounter with terrorists. From the very beginning of the book, Mercer skillfully builds tension, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as Kelly and Tom navigate through danger to uncover the truth.

The thing I liked the most about the book is its gripping narrative, which seamlessly weaves together multiple perspectives to provide a comprehensive view of the unfolding events. The book was unputdownable from the very beginning. The shifts in storytelling keep the plot dynamic and engaging, drawing readers deeper into the story with each chapter.

Additionally, Mercer's attention to detail shines through in the vivid descriptions of settings and characters, painting a rich and immersive world for readers to explore. Despite the fast-paced action, the author manages to infuse moments of humor, adding depth and levity to the narrative.

However, the book is not without its flaws. I personally believe that the cover could be improved to better reflect the content of the story. Additionally, while the editing is commendable with no apparent grammatical errors, I felt that the main protagonists, Tom and Kelly, lacked depth and development. This book, despite being labeled as a romance, leans heavily towards the action thriller genre. As Tom and Kelly uncover the terrorist plot during their honeymoon, the romance takes a backseat. While the thrilling action keeps readers engaged, those expecting a romantic focus may find themselves wanting more from the title.

Despite these minor drawbacks, "E M P Honeymoon" deserves a solid 5 out of 5 stars for its thrilling plot, well-crafted narrative, and strong female protagonists. Mercer's debut novel is a must-read for fans of action-packed thrillers.

I highly recommend "E M P Honeymoon" to anyone seeking an adrenaline-pumping read filled with suspense and excitement. Whether you're a fan of action thrillers or looking for a gripping adventure, this book delivers on all fronts. Don't miss out on the chance to experience the thrill of Kelly and Tom's honeymoon gone awry.
