Forget Me Not is a story with crime, romance, and suspense. Miranda wakes up on the kitchen floor, but she does not know her name or where she is. Suddenly, Deputy Sheriff Dan Bradley arrives and tells her that she was attacked. As she regains her memories, Miranda realizes she was targeted, and her attack may be related to her twin brother’s death. She also discovers she and Dan are close friends and maybe more. Dan and Miranda discover that the infamous Geneli crime family is trying to protect their large inheritance by committing multiple murders, and Dan suspects that the family is also responsible for Miranda’s attack. It is unclear why the Genelis are targeting Miranda and her family. Dan and Miranda work together to learn their surprising ties to the Genelis and the power Dan and Miranda hold.

This book is an enjoyable read with a lot of suspense and just enough romance. The relationship between Miranda and Dan is heartwarming, especially as you learn their history. The author does an excellent job of using Miranda’s memories to summarize past events and describe deceased characters. The story includes twists and turns and has a satisfying conclusion, although I feel as though it ended abruptly. I would have liked the author to include an epilogue of what happened after the criminals were arrested.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. It is a simple suspense story, but it has depth and complexity in the plot and character’s relationships. The editing is also well done. I took off one star as I felt the story would have benefited from a more definitive ending and a table or guide on the characters. There were so many secondary characters that belonged to various crime families, that I found it hard to keep track of who was who and the role they played.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read with some unpredictable twists and a little romance.

Romance is not my thing but the thriller with twists is definitely interesting to me even if I understand that having a lot of secondary characters can create confusion. Thank you for your great review!
