“EMP Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom" by Dorothy May Mercer is an exhilarating novel that blends action, mystery, romance, and suspense like a fine machine. The story is set in Central America, where a honeymoon couple stumbles upon a top-secret mission by enemy forces to dismantle the entire country and wreak havoc on the world. There are plenty of twists, turns, and edge-of-the-seat moments, so buckle up for a thrilling ride.
Newlyweds Sergeant Tom Turbulo and Kelly McBride go on their honeymoon only to find their beautiful vacation interrupted when Kelly stumbles upon something that scares the living daylights out of her. To avoid spoilers, I will not reveal anything regarding the actual story, so be patient with me. The bride and groom now have to decide what to do, and as they try to solve the mystery behind the discovery, other characters get involved as the danger level keeps increasing. They have to now team up with an unusual bunch of people to save the country from a disaster that threatens the very existence of the most powerful nation on the planet.

The best thing I liked about the book was the style of its storytelling. The author doesn’t waste much of our time and dives straight into the main plot. She was great with the setting of the scenes so that the reader would not find it hard to imagine the plot playing out. There are some good action-packed scenes that will keep the reader satisfied. The reader will not feel like keeping the book down, which is the best compliment one can give to the author. The author also shows her knowledge on various aspects described in the look. There are various descriptions pertaining to space, physics, nuclear wars, and mainly computer technology. They were blended into the story so well that it felt organic. The writing is kept pretty clean and to the point, which makes it enjoyable. There is a lot of romance, mystery, and a little humor thrown in for good measure.

There are certain aspects I felt could have been better. For example, the character of the antagonist feels very tame and almost comedic. It is lacking the intimidating persona that could have given the story so much depth. There were certain instances where the situations felt rushed and had very easy solutions. The situation could have been more hopeless to add desperation and depth to the story. Some of the sentences could have been worded differently for an easier read. Other than these minor exceptions, the book was very well written.

Summarizing, I give "E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom" a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for its professional editing. I couldn’t find any errors, which was great. The book is successful in delivering a story worthy of good cinema with suspense, well-designed characters, and an amazing plot. I would highly recommend this book for readers who like action, mystery, drama, and some technology in their novels.
