Review of E M P Honeymoon
In her fiction work, E M P Honeymoon, Dorothy May Mercer delves into the events surrounding Kelly and Tom's honeymoon and how they unintentionally stumble into a sinister conspiracy that could endanger their nation.
Tom and Kelly are a newly married couple. They go on their honeymoon on a small island located in Honduras. They were enjoying themselves, and everything seemed normal. Tom is a seasoned cop. When her husband, Tom, was out enjoying the dive boat, she decided to explore local venues using a tour bus. She wandered far away from the bus when she became curious about a unique gift shop she encountered. When she comes close to the shop and enters it, she realizes it's just a front, and something illegal and dangerous is going on inside. The tour bus has already moved on, and she enters an employee-only section, ignoring the warning signs. She discovers a high-tech lab and a shipping container, among other things. A man pulls up from behind to hold her mouth so she can't scream. Now, she seems to have discovered a dangerous plot, and she is in immediate danger. What will happen next? How will she escape? What action will she take to stop the dangerous plot against her country? Read this suspense thriller to find out.
This is the second book that I am reading by the same author. I have already read her previous work, "Cynthia and Dan, Cyber War." I really like that book. Her books are filled with science, suspense, thrillers, and technology. Her books are also educational, as she does very deep research into the subjects, and we bear the fruit of the things she shares. The intricate detail with which she shares things is commendable. I have learned a lot of things by reading her two books.
What I like about the book is that it is thoroughly engaging. I always wondered, while reading, what would happen next. The story of the book kept me hooked throughout its length. The genre in which the author writes is called realistic fiction. Whenever I read her book, it does not seem like I'm reading fiction. It seems like a real story, which is the power of this genre. Also, the tension-building that this book does is awesome. The English used in this book is simple, so it's a plus for non-native English speakers. The editing was also professional and flawless.
There is not much to dislike about the book. I wish the book had some more mystery elements built into it. The romance between Sharon and Steve could have been explored further. These things are optional, and they do not affect much on the overall enjoyment of the book.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I have given it five stars because there is nothing much to dislike about the book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it; even people who do not like fiction that much would surely love this book. After reading two of her books, she is now one of my favorite fiction authors. I would recommend this book to fiction lovers as well as people who might want to try out fiction. This book would be an ideal first-time fiction read.
