Tom Turbulo and Kelly embark on their honeymoon in Honduras, but their plans are disrupted when they encounter a group of terrorists in possession of an EMP device (EMP means Electro-Magnetic Pulse). Dorothy May Mercer's fictional action novel, "E M P Honeymoon," offers a fast-paced plot and humor suitable for teenagers and adults. The novel delves into the American government's efforts to thwart terrorist plots and the Koreans’ ploy to deploy a nuclear weapon, offering a comprehensive historical backdrop and potentially realistic depictions of the consequences of nuclear warfare.

Tom goes scuba diving, and Kelly discovers a forbidden discovery after heading into a laboratory disguised in the back of a pigsty gift shop. She stumbles upon the discovery of a deadly plot by terrorists plotting to wipe out North America as she is chased out of the shop. The novel is filled with thrilling scenes and clever dialogue, with scenes ending on suspenseful cliffhangers. The novel skillfully portrays the catastrophic effects of a nuclear electromagnetic pulse and its potential consequences. The third-person perspective allows readers to see the world from different perspectives. The story starts with a captivating premise and seamlessly moves between different plotlines, which will enthrall its readers.

I love the spy theme of the book; it also highlights the patriotic responsibilities of citizens. We see the ordinary couple (who we’re supposed to be having the time of their lives on the honeymoon) along with the help of her brother Senator McBride’s and the CIA agent, Steve, with Mike, Cynthia, and Sky playing pivotal roles to try and hinder the terrorism attack. It’s an exciting crime thriller to read, and it also shows the careful planning done by the terrorists, Colonel Rhee Su-jin and a team of scientific experts, entrusted with this mission by General Lee. Along with the sense of duty, it also showcases aspects of romance, politics, humor, wit, and action.

The book has undergone exceptional editing, leaving no room for errors. I wholeheartedly give it a perfect 5 out of 5 rating because I didn’t find anything to dislike about the book. It was a highly eventful book that lovers of thrillers and action would love.
