"Frankie," by Bruce Deitrick Price, is a fictional novel that explores the world of humans in anticipation of artificial intelligence (AI). The novel is revealed to us through Julia Mason, the wife of Raymond Mason, who is a professor of mathematics, a genius, and a man determined to create robots that will operate like humans. His passion and dedication towards his invention, along with his assistant Wallace and funding from the government through the Pentagon supervised by Major Bridget, unraveled a series of tragic events that turned the human world apart with the arrival of the much-anticipated robots.

First was the tragic death of the inventor of the robot himself, Dr. Raymond Wallace, in his own house when he brought the female robot, Frankie, home. He was so excited by his own invention that he got drunk from his elation and fell on the stairs in his own home, hitting his head on the stairs and dying instantly. He became the first victim of his own invention. Secondly, his wife Julia Mason became extremely jealous of a non-living thing, a robot, that took not only the attention of her husband from her but also his life. She became angry, bitter, and sought justice to destroy the machine that was invented to make the world perfect but ended up turning the world into chaos.

The author effectively utilizes the university setting to depict various facets of society, with each character representing different segments, including home life, societal roles, workers, and age demographics. The book succeeds in character building, with each character driving the plot and depicting the scientific setting effectively through dialogue. Frankie's characterization, in particular, adds humor and a romantic touch to the narrative.

Additionally, the book is exceptionally well edited, with no grammar errors found. With no objective reason to rate it less, the book receives a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. It would be most suitable for youths aged 16 and above due to the level of language used, and it serves as a preparatory tool for young adults to consider the implications of future advancements in artificial intelligence.

Raymond's pursuit of his invention sets off a chain of tragic events that disrupt the human world upon the arrival of the robots. As Major Bridget oversees the project on behalf of the Pentagon, tensions escalate, and the implications of Raymond's creation become increasingly dire. Price's novel skillfully explores themes of ambition, ethics.
