"Soul Seeker” is a supernatural fantasy novel by Kaylin McFarren, which is divided into two parts and consists of 38 chapters. The first part is the story of Benjamin Poe, a former firefighter serving a prison sentence for the murder of his son, Gabriel, against the background of an irreparable marriage and inexplicable arson. Poe is visited by lawyer Pierce Beaudoin, and he narrates the tragic events that happened to him, among which is the involvement of the demon Crighton with his son, which resulted in the false charges against Poe and his subsequent suicide by hanging in hell. The second part tells the life of Crighton, whom Lucifer sent to earth behind an angel’s soul to be captured. By getting caught with the angel Ariel and having a forced connection with her, Crighton offered him a soulmate, through which they escaped with Crighton’s demon mother, Acadia. The trio confronts many challenges, including Lucifer, who reveals to Crighton his connection to the rulers and the prophecies that accompany him. In a climactic battle, the trio attempts to navigate their new roles amidst angelic and demonic politics. What happened to Lucifer and Crighton? Get the book to find out.

The book is a complex and engaging tale that weaves together themes of redemption, familial ties, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. The novel effectively combines elements of supernatural intrigue and celestial warfare, creating a vivid and expansive world where demons and angels clash. Through the harrowing journey of Benjamin Poe and the demonic missions of Crighton, McFarren explores the consequences of past actions and the possibility of salvation.

My favorite aspect of this book is the character development of Crighton, the demon tasked with capturing an angel’s soul. His evolution from a feared and ruthless collector of souls to a complex character capable of love and redemption is both captivating and well-executed. The bond that forms between Crighton and Ariel, transforming them into soulmates, makes me enjoy the book more. This dynamic relationship, coupled with the revelation of Crighton's mixed heritage and his ultimate defiance against Lucifer, provides a rich and emotionally resonant storyline that stands out as a highlight of the novel.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for its compelling character development and imaginative world-building. The characters, especially Crighton and Poe, are well-developed, and their personal journeys are both engaging and emotionally resonant. The plot twists and the exploration of themes such as redemption, love, and the struggle between good and evil keep the narrative thrilling and thought-provoking.

I recommend this book to fans of supernatural fantasy and dark fiction. Also, if you enjoy plots involving angels, demons, and celestial battles, along with deep character development and emotional storytelling, this book is for you. There is nothing I dislike about this book. It is exceptionally edited.

It is interesting that your favorite character happens to be a demon. I am glad for Crighton’s development, though. Lovibg and being loved are very important. Thanks!

I’m a lover of fantasy but this book cover is so dull that I don’t see myself picking this book up. However, your review has given me a reason to do otherwise

Although this book sounds like an intriguing narrative, I think I would pass on this one because I'm not a fan of books centered supernatural and celestial beings.

“Soul Seeker” stands out for its intricate portrayal of redemption and the clash between celestial and demonic forces, offering readers a profound exploration of character evolution and moral complexity. The dual narrative of Benjamin Poe and Crighton adds depth to the story, intertwining personal struggles with larger celestial conflicts and enhancing the overall emotional impact of the novel.

The novel is split into two parts, with the first part exploring Benjamin Poe’s tragic life under false accusations and demonic influence. The second part follows Crighton’s quest involving angels, demons, and celestial politics. McFarren’s exploration of themes like redemption and the struggle between good and evil creates a vivid world. The evolution of Crighton's character and his dynamic relationship with Ariel are particularly engaging, adding emotional depth and intrigue to the novel.

Do you think the author was able to strike a balance between the fantastical elements and the more grounded, relatable themes?

The comparison you made between the moral ambiguity in the book and the internal struggles we face as humans is a really insightful observation.
