Blanket Immunity is by author Adam Van Susteren. The author is a genuine lawyer and has practiced civil litigation since 2004. He wrote this book with two characters based on his friends. Adam is an inspiring author who has thoroughly researched this book. He brings forth an authenticity and genuineness to his writing.

The book is fast-paced and keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. I was apprehensive about reading a legal book however it was easy to keep up with. The book's main character Jo is a strong female lead with a side love story. This is a new and developing love story in this book. It is a background story that does not take over the book. Even the “thug” in this book is likable and I found myself rooting for his success.

Immediately this book captivates you and takes you on a ride. The first page snagged my complete attention and desire to dive into this book. This book has it all. The pull between right and wrong, morally acceptable, or not, needing money desperately and deciding the lengths her conscious was willing to go. The main character Jo takes a huge leap into the unknown and her fear and uncertainty are unpalatable. She was relatable and as a reader, you are right beside her thinking about what you would do in her shoes given the circumstances.

Given the strong storyline, impeccable writing, and ability to capture the reader, I rate this book 5/5. The writing flows effortlessly and the editing is done professionally. I am thrilled to learn this is a series and I am looking forward to reading Ganger’s Court, book 2. I will be looking up more of Adam Van Susterens books in the future and may have found a new favorite author.
