Mike Ramos' book Protecting Yourself Against Online Scam + Tips to Spot the Location of a Cyber Criminal serves as a manual or instruction on how to prevent falling victim to scams. People can no longer feel safe in the environment we live in today due to the prevalence of fraudsters. We are no longer free to go about or use our gadgets in peace and without fear of being conned. This book by Mike Ramos provides us with a thorough understanding of how scams operate, how to avoid falling victim to one, and how to identify con artists when we encounter one. The author delves thoroughly into the various ways that individuals (usually not someone we know; it may be a stranger from a distant place) con us.

Mike Ramos' little essay truly made me aware of the threats that now plague our society and how to prevent them. I had no idea that you could get scammed just by scanning a QR code until I read this book, but you will discover all of these things and more when you read this incredible book. The author discusses how individuals of different ethnicities may perceive us. He cited the well-known scams involving Nigerian princes and Indian scammers. After reading this book, you will understand the methods and strategies these individuals employ to exploit others. The author's first assertion that con artists may seem like anyone, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or any other characteristic, was one of the book's best features, in my opinion. I particularly liked how, after going into great detail on how scams work, he provided steps that might be taken to prevent or avoid falling victim to one. I've learned a lot from this book, which is why I truly enjoy it.

My criticism of this book is that it uses certain antiquated techniques (such as the Nigerian scams), but AI has made these techniques better, so many of them can now utilize AI to enhance their communication abilities. Rather than criticism, it's more of an addition. While reading this book, I also came across a few mistakes. It requires thorough editorial evaluation and verification. Throughout the entire book, I didn't come across any explicit contents, and I also didn't come across any swear words.

Because of the mistakes I discovered, I give this book a 4 out of 5 star rating; if it had been edited, I would give it a 5 star rating. It was a quick, direct read that was quite enjoyable. I would suggest this to everyone since it is full of knowledge that can be gained. Children who are able to read and comprehend what they are reading may find it useful at first, but in the long run, it will be beneficial to them.
