The story of Madam Vice President by Julian Mann is an enticing political crime mystery about Victoria Pierce, a 42-year-old brigadier general in the United States Marines. Victoria is set to become the first female vice president in the history of the US when she joins the presidential campaign of Senator Sam Eagon, whom she has been secretly dating for the last 15 years. But what people don't know is that Victoria has a very hidden and very grave secret. As Victoria climbs her way up the political ladder, she catches the eye of a political journalist by the name of Grace Brandon, and she decides that she will not stop until she unravels the past of America's favorite female brigadier general. Will this reporter be the person to jeopardize her entire career and maybe even her life? And how is this mystery person who has just been released from prison related to a decorated general in the US Marines? you have to read the book to find out.

This is by far the best political mystery I have read so far. The story is full of depth and rich with the right amount of details to help you understand the plot without getting bored or wanting to skip pages. The development of the main character is exceptional; it gives hope and courage to people who have made mistakes in their lives and want to change for the better. I also enjoyed the way the author was telling Victoria's story in a back-and-forth time frame from 1980/81 to 2008; it made the plot much more enjoyable and mysterious.

There wasn't much that I didn't like about the book; the overall description of the scene and the amount of detail about each event and character were very appropriate and well-structured.

I would rate this book a 5 out of 5; it's worth reading and enjoying. The editing was also exceptionally done; I didn't find any grammatical or spelling mistakes, and even the split of the chapter was very well structured.

I recommend this book to any lover of mysteries, especially political ones. The books also help readers understand political campaigns and steps as well as procedures when they are in the middle of elections and how candidates work to promote themselves to citizens so they will vote for them. The book is suited for all age groups who can understand politics and society.
