Review of E M P Honeymoon
The book “E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer is an action-filled novel that delves into the potential consequences for North America should terrorists create an electromagnetic pulse. At the center of the action are newlyweds Kelly and Tom Turbulo, who were enjoying their honeymoon in Honduras. Their honeymoon is, however, faced with a new twist when they come across a secret operation aimed at the United States. The novel highlights the strengths of individual Americans who, through sheer dedication and love of their country, put aside their personal struggles and dedicate their time fully to ensuring they prevent disaster for their country. The novel's 16 chapters will take you through an action-filled adventure that brings together the collective efforts of individual Americans all working towards the same goal of ensuring the safety of their country.
The author has used the following fictional characters who are central to the unfolding action, suspense, and humor within the novel, each contributing their unique skills to the action. The novel looks at the events unfolding through the different perspectives represented by these central characters. The dictator is the key enemy who orchestrates the Korean plot to overthrow the U.S. government, presenting a significant threat to the U.S. Kelly Turbulo, a newlywed on her honeymoon in Honduras, is resourceful and curious. She has a keen eye for detail, which leads her to uncover a secret operation against the U.S. during her honeymoon. It’s this discovery that sets the story in motion. Tom Turbulo Kelly’s husband, a fellow adventurer, teams up with his wife to unravel the Korean plot and protect their country. This also brings out the aspect of romance. Love and togetherness by a couple. We also have Steve, a CIA agent stationed in Honduras. He has investigative skills and access to intelligence resources, which, together with collaborating with Kelly and Tom, play a crucial role in investigating the Korean operation. Finally, the U.S. Military Team executed the plan to stop the Korean operations, indicating expertise in military prowess and operations. There are other characters, but I personally find the ones mentioned key to the overall plot of the novel.
What I loved about the book is that the plot is straightforward and full of adventure and action. The language used is easy to understand and enjoyable. Although the book contains some profanity, it was expected for such an action-filled novel. Being an audiobook, I found it difficult to pick up instances of grammatical errors. There is nothing I disliked in the book.
I commend the editor too, because the book is exceptionally edited.
This is a must-read for lovers of action-filled adventures. In my opinion, this book deserves 5 stars out of 5.
