The Redemption of Sebastian Priest is a crime thriller focused on a mysterious old man living in the woods, where young girls keep missing. When journalist Catherine Riley gets the opportunity to write a story on the reclusive Priest, she feels this will be her big break. As she travels to interview him, she hopes to find out who Sebastian Priest really is and if he has anything to do with the disappearances. Little does Catherine know that her meeting with Priest will change her life. Meanwhile, law enforcement must work quickly to find out the link between the missing girls as more bodies are found.

The book begins fast-paced and then slowly builds up to the main action. The story kept my attention as the author built the suspense and kept me guessing until the end. The characters are well-developed, and it is easy to connect with the main character Catherine as the events of the book unfold. Writing as Catherine, the author can convey Catherine’s emotions in such a realistic way that the reader can easily feel those emotions as well. The best part of the book is the unpredictability regarding Priest’s background, which is dark and complex. This kept readers from guessing the conclusion.

My main issue with the book was the lack of editing, mostly related to formatting. I took off one star due to this. I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars. The plot was complex, captivating, and unpredictable. The main characters were likable and easy for the reader to empathize with. The secondary characters added to the plot and suspense of the story.

I recommend this book to those looking for a nail-biting thriller and mystery. Due to adult content and violence, I would only recommend this book to adults.
