When it rains, it pours. What will you do if troubles or difficult situations come one after the other or arrive all at the same time? Family bankruptcy, infidelity, deceit, and competition are all woven into one in this story of 354 pages. This is the fourth book in a series of five about the fortunes and misfortunes of the Walls. This story presents the aftermath of the world's recession in 2008 when the Lehman brothers declared their bankruptcy.

Sandra is an empowered woman. She tried everything to save the family. While trying to save the family’s fortune, she met Michael. They became business partners. Their relationship was elevated into a love affair. The relationship seemed perfect at first until Sandra noticed that Michael was hiding something from her. Will the secret of Michael remain a secret?

Sienna, Sandra’s younger sister is married to John England. Sienna and John started to build their dreams for their first-born James. Everything was in place until someone kidnapped James. The life of the couple was turned upside-down. Their misfortune did not stop. John was also haunted by his past which affected the couple.

Jordan is a great storyteller. The pacing of one event to the other made the story relatable. My favorite character is Sandra. She is a strong woman and she remained beside her sister during her sister's down moments. I find Michael the most intriguing character in the story. I also doubt his love to Sandra.
The only problem I encountered in this story is Sienna replacing Sandra's role. The narration states that “Sienna left and returned to her apartment to start her preparations for a winter on Spain”. It was Sandra going to Spain because she made an arrangement with Michael (p. 252).

I rate Cracks in the Wall by R A Jordan 3 out of 4 stars. This story is a cliff-hanger. It obliges those who read it to own the next book. The sequel will surely answer all the questions left unanswered. It will be published in 2018 as the author announced. The story kept me guessing from the start until the last page. What will happen to the Wall family? What will happen to Terry? Who was the culprit of the crime? What will happen to the relationship of Sienna and John? What is the future of the two babies named James? I recommend this book for those who are in the field of social sciences because this story touches social issues and for those who want mystery, this is perfect.

A great story from a great storyteller. It seems I'll be waiting for the sequel too.

Sounds like quite a bit of misfortune for one poor family! It does sound quite intriguing though. Thanks for the review.
