"E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer is an exciting science fiction novel that intertwines romance, mystery, and political suspense. The story follows newlyweds Kelly McBride and Sergeant Tom Turbulo as they embark on a honeymoon in Honduras. What starts as a peaceful vacation quickly turns into a high-stakes adventure when Kelly stumbles upon a terrorist group's plan to launch an Electromagnetic Pulse (E.M.P.) attack on the United States. As they delve deeper into the conspiracy, they realize the gravity of the situation and the need to act swiftly to avert disaster.

The book opens with immediate action as Kelly gets separated from Tom and discovers a suspicious computer lab in a toy pig store. This leads her to contact her brother, Senator Michael McBride, who brings in Assistant Director Joseph to help. The plot seamlessly moves between the couple’s adventure, the terrorists’ preparations, and the U.S. government’s efforts to piece everything together. Despite being part of the McBride series, the novel stands on its own, allowing new readers to fully engage with the story without prior knowledge of the series.

I enjoyed how the author crafted a thrilling and engaging narrative. The characters were well-developed, and their actions were believable and relatable. The book's fast pace and clear, straightforward language kept me hooked from start to finish. I also appreciated the patriotism displayed by Kelly and Tom, as they put their honeymoon on hold to save their country. The inclusion of Cynthia and Sky from previous books added depth and continuity to the series.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. The plot was tight and well-executed, and the characters felt realistic. The pacing was mostly consistent, with only a slight lull in the middle, but it quickly picked up again. Overall, the story was compelling and enjoyable.

I rate "E M P Honeymoon" 5 out of 5 stars. I found no errors in the book, indicating that it was flawlessly edited. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy action-packed thrillers, science fiction, and political intrigue. This book is suitable for teenagers and adults who are looking for an exciting and thought-provoking read.
