Amid their idyllic honeymoon in Honduras, Kelly and Tom Turbulo find themselves embroiled in an unexpected turn of events. It all begins innocently enough—a hidden revelation surfaces at a nondescript tourist spot, leaving Kelly both intrigued and alarmed. Fearing for her safety, she turns to her brother, Senator Mike McBride, to seek assistance. As the situation becomes increasingly complex, conventional solutions fall short, prompting Mike to urgently contact his acquaintance at the CIA, Assistant Director Joseph Rench. The stakes rise, and the urgency intensifies as secrets unravel.

Incorporating a foreign government adds complexity to the storyline, making the unfolding events both unsettling and plausible. The relatable characters infuse familiarity into the narrative, while Mercer skillfully weaves everyday occurrences—like a visitor battling the intense Honduran heat—into the fabric of the storytelling, enhancing its authenticity. Clear sub-headings in the chapters ensure smooth transitions and eliminate ambiguity about ongoing events.

Author Dorothy May Mercer acknowledges that certain aspects of the book may pose challenges for readers. To address potentially unfamiliar subjects and terminology, she thoughtfully provides a detailed explanation in Chapter Two, covering topics like governmental relations, nuclear warfare, missile defenses, and EMPs. Mercer’s empathy for her readers shines through as she effectively places herself in their shoes.

I give E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer a perfect five out of five stars. The book is meticulously edited, well-written, and features a captivating plot with action-packed, suspenseful scenes. The strong female protagonists, who are dedicated to their nation, add an appealing dimension. I thoroughly enjoyed the adrenaline-pumping, nail-biting scenes. There is nothing I dislike about this book.

For avid readers who relish action-packed adventure novels infused with a touch of romance, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. The author skillfully weaves together exhilarating action sequences, while the suspenseful storyline flows seamlessly, creating an engaging and thoroughly enjoyable reading experience.
