Review of Forsake Me Not
“Forsake Me Not” by Lacynda Mathes is a work of fiction that embraces the conception of action, crime, thrills, and twists all over it. The story revolves mainly around four characters, namely, Deputy Dan Bradley, Miranda Davis, Deb Bradley, and Master Sergeant Gavin Mahoney.
As Dan Bradley and his bride-to-be, Miranda, were preparing for their wedding, a new danger arose in the form of a criminal named Kris Bowen, who purposely raped Miranda during her college years. Seemingly obsessed with Miranda, he kidnaps Jason Bradley, son of Dan Bradley and his ex-wife Deb Bradley, and releases him, doing no harm and escaping. To solve this case and arrest the culprit, Dan and his friend Gavin, Deb’s recent love, join with FBI agent Thomas Mathews, head to Virginia from Chicago, and return, where they encounter many hidden secrets regarding Dan’s past. To find out what those secrets were and also to figure out the story’s mysterious climax, grab a copy of “Forsake Me Not” and dive into it.
The captivating plot transformed this book into one of the best page-turning novels. The way the author took over the relationship between Dan, Miranda, Deb, and Gavin was astonishing. It is highly important to appreciate the author’s character depiction in the novel. The vivid writing style made me fall in love with each character and also feel the emotions that were experienced by the people in the story, and it also created a hatred towards the role of Kris Bowen, which was awesome and amusing.
The stunning conversations and remarkable expressions of love between two couples were heart-touching. Each chapter and incident looked like an unlinking dot while reading. But encountering the spot where all the dots were interconnected and considered important was the most beloved phase of the novel. Each time each secret was revealed about Dan’s past, as a reader, I got the pleasure that would be experienced by the archaeologist when the treasures were found while excavating the sites. The twist at the end about the roles of criminals was unexpected and noticeable. The highlight of the book is that it didn’t allow me to put it down until the end, which made me finish it within a short time.
I didn’t find any negativity while coming across the novel. The book was professionally edited, and I didn’t find any grammatical mistakes.
In conclusion, “Forsake Me Not” is one of the best suspense crime thriller novels where there will be a lot of unexpected twists and turns, for which I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. Finally, I would recommend this book to readers who love action sequences within the fascinating plot of a crime thriller.
