Kaylin McFarren's Soul Seeker is a gripping and haunting tale that follows Benjamin Poe's descent into darkness, sparked by the tragic loss of his son, Gabriel, for which he is unjustly convicted. As Poe struggles to come to terms with his new reality, he finds himself drawn into a supernatural world of ancient evils and demonic forces that seek to claim his soul. With his very existence hanging in the balance, Poe must embark on a perilous quest for redemption, navigating treacherous landscapes and confronting the darkest aspects of his own nature in a bid to find peace and reclaim his life.

The book opens with an intense scene that drops us into the midst of Poe's desperate plight. As he confides in his lawyer, it becomes clear that his objective is not to justify his actions but to reveal the sinister and unexplained circumstances that led to the tragedy. Through Poe's narrative, a sense of tension and suspense builds, culminating in a shocking declaration: he asserts his innocence and claims to have been forced into committing a horrific act to save his son from a dark and supernatural force. This captivating blend of crime and the paranormal raises numerous questions, keeping readers engaged and curious, eager to unravel the mystery alongside Poe.

The story's unique framework, presented as Poe's confession, delivers a gripping and intimate account of the events, drawing the reader into the heart of the action. The author's clever use of perspective effectively immerses the reader in the story, making it a compelling and unputdownable read. The characters are multidimensional and expertly crafted, with Poe's emotional anguish and desperation eliciting a deep sense of empathy. Even the enigmatic demon, Crighton, is a masterfully created villain whose motivations and powers are skillfully shrouded in mystery, adding to the suspense and intrigue.

From start to finish, I was thoroughly engrossed and couldn't find a single aspect to criticize. With its impeccable editing and expertly crafted plot, I have no hesitation in awarding it a flawless 5 out of 5 stars. This book is an absolute must-read for fans of gripping fiction.
