Review of The Drop
A profession that requires solving crimes most of the time seems to be a very risky one, as both your family and you are on the radar of attacks from enemies. In the book The Drop by Iohamil Navarro Cuesta, we see a similar scenario, as the protagonist is in the middle of a dangerous mission where he fights to solve the mystery and also protect his family.
Tino is an important character in this book. Together with his boss Rosa and colleague Miguel, they are working on a mission to recover a compromising video of the US president. Tino is a family man with kids, and due to the nature of his work, his family is exposed to attack. Could this be among the reasons why their marriage is about to crash? But then it's not an easy period for Tino, as he is tasked with a high-risk mission and is also keen on protecting his family from danger. Who will he be able to succeed with this mission without causing any harm to his family? This is also a twist I am so eager to uncover. I am sure you will get the whole story in the book.
It's been a while since I read from this genre; no doubt it was a very interesting read with lots of suspense and twists. The characters were well developed, and I was able to know their roles earlier on at the start of this book; this gave room for a smooth read. The cover page has a simple design with lots of details, which describes what the book is about. I also love how Tino always cared for his family; it's something one should take home despite how demanding his work is; he was there for his family. The book was evenly paced, and the progression of the story was top-notch. It's a book that promises to make your day interesting.
In terms of errors, I noticed only one grammatical error, which isn't sufficient to deduct any stars. This error is the only flaw I found in this book. The book has a high level of editing, and I would rate it five out of five stars. I would recommend this book to lovers of suspense and crime thrillers.
