Review of Ultimate Sacrifices
Ultimate Sacrifices by David M. Selcer follows the story of Arizona Senator Victoria A. Lincoln in her fight to determine the fate of America's gun laws in this book. Her desires, fueled by her violent encounter with gunned men, which led to an injury that almost cost her life, propel her forward to do all that she can to make sure the firearm laws are adjusted. Despite the threats surrounding her life and the kidnapping of Chief Justice Wesley Cantwell, Victoria stands ready to ensure that stricter firearms legislation is put into place. Will Victoria make it out of this opposition alive, or better yet, will her dreams of firearms legislation be enacted? There's only one way to find out!
Following this story was so interesting for me that I did not realize I had already covered so many pages. The suspense in the story kept me hooked to the end because I was eager to know how the events would eventually unfold because of the intense heat and action in the story. The kidnapping of the Chief Justice, Wesley Cantwell, at a crucial moment when matters were to be decided posed a great threat to the law and even members of the council as fear engulfed some of them. Senator Victoria, on the other hand, is determined to go to all lengths, even without letting her relationship hinder her, to ensure that the lives of citizens are no longer threatened by firearms. I enjoyed how this story captured so much detail and creativity in such concise writing.
I couldn't find anything to dislike about the book, and I found a few formatting errors while I read through; hence, this book was professionally edited. I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the reasons mentioned above. Also, beyond being a story, this book offers readers the choice of considering the things mentioned and relating them to our current reality to see if the laws concerning firearms are good enough to protect the lives of citizens and stop gun violence. I recommend this book to lovers of books that involve themes like crime, thrillers, mystery, and horror, as this book promises to keep readers glued to their seats with such intense suspense. Readers of different races and mature ages can also benefit from it.
